Everyone has their favorite Pokemon, but who are the best? Legendary and pseudo-legendary Pokemon has the highest stats, but there are many regular Pokemon who can be very hard to beat. Here are the top 10 best Pokemon.
Breloom may look adorable, but he packs a big punch. With his excellent attack stat, Breloom is easily one of the best fighting Pokemon in the game. He’s got access to some fantastic moves, like Spore, Focus Punch, and Brick Break, and can annoy his targets in a number of ways. Whether you’d like to put your foes to sleep, slowly drain their HP with Leech Seed, or just dish out some massive damage, Breloom is the Pokemon for you.
If you need a wall against physical attackers, Skarmory is ideal. The instant recovery that Roost gives him makes him an extremely hard Pokemon to take down. He also has access to Whirlwind, which will remove any stat boosts the opposing Pokemon is using. If your competitor sends out a hard to beat Pokemon, it’s time to send out a Skarmory.
Ampharos may not have the name recognition that other electric types like Pikachu do, but he’s a formidable opponent. Slaking may be stuck with the terrible Truant ability, which causes him to idle every other turn, but the damage he can do when he can act is unparalleled. He’s got massive strength, one of the best movepools in the game, and a surprisingly high speed. His ability makes him a massive risk, but if it pays off, he can destroy just about any other Pokemon. Use him with caution, but don’t be scared off of use him entirely. Even with this ability, he’s easily one of the top 10 best Pokemon.
The new threats introduced in Black and White have made Togekiss less of a force to be reckoned with than he once was, but he’s still a very tough Pokemon. His spectacular defense, high special attack, and useful abilities make him very versatile. Using Togekiss can be a risk, but when it pays off, he’ll fly around cutely while his opponents are destroyed. Access to moves like Air Slash and Roost make this cute little guy harder one of the top 10 best Pokemon.
All starter Pokemon have the potential to be incredibly powerful if fully evolved, but none have managed to reach the level of Blaziken. With a high attack stat and multiple moves that offer an insanely high same-type attack bonus, he can tear through many a well built team. With Flare Blitz and Hi Jump Kick in his arsenal, there are few Pokemon that Blaziken can’t take down.
Excadrill is still a fairly new Pokemon, but he’s more than proven his worth. His base attack is a very high 135, and he has the ability to double his speed in a sandstorm. He also has access to Swords Dance, which makes his attack stat terrifyingly high. Under ideal conditions, he can outspeed almost any Pokemon, and can sweep through enemy after enemy.
For many players, Scizor is the hands-down the biggest threat in metagame. His base attack stat is a whopping 130, which makes him an offensive nightmare. To compliment this, his technician skill can increase the base power of many of his moves. He’s got access to moves like Swords Dance, Bullet Punch, and U-Turn, and can provide defensive support as well. He’ll fit in perfectly with almost any kind of team.
Gyarados may have humble beginnings, but when he’s evolved, he’s a threat who can bulldoze his way through an entire team. His high base attack, high defense, and excellent movepool make him well prepared for just about any situation. When Dragon Dance and Waterfall are a part of his moveset, he can sweep Pokemon after Pokemon before your competitor has a chance to really counter.
